Domaine de la Perdrix

Heart of Aspres Nested in the foothills of the Pyrenees, overhanging the coastal plain of Roussillon, the Domaine de la Perdrix grows over 110 acres of wine grapes on the rural district of Trouillas, located between the city of Perpignan and the spanish border. Established in the 1820s, the family estate vineyard is today managed by Virginie and André Gil. When they took over in 1997, they also put back on track the old winery where the winemaking process has been performed ever since. The land is a full patchwork of dry and rustic soils. This means that every harvest of parcels are vinified separately to preserve these identities. The blending therefore requires that particlar care in order to obtain an elegant and subtul balance between the fruit, the ropy consistance and the tannins. The wines thus produced atttempt to express the richness and the authencity of the mediterranean ground.
