Château Brande-Bergère is a small family-owned estate of 20 acres located just north of Saint Emilion on a hillside overlooking the Dronne River valley.
Wines from Brande-Bergère were already well-known across France, Germany, England, and Ireland in the 19th century for their elegance and finesse.
The estate was acquired in 1997 by Edith & Denis Dalibot who carried out a complete renovation of the vineyard and the winery. They have worked passionately to improve the quality of the wine produced on this exceptional terroir, ever respectful of the old Bordeaux traditions.
Soils are drained, vines carefully pruned, yields controlled through green harvest, and grapes are handpicked and fully destemmed. These careful measures along with temperature-controlled fermentation insure only the highest quality wine is produced.
Château Brande-Bergère Bordeaux Superieur is vinified and matured for 17 months, partly in oak barrels.
The Cuvée O’Byrne, produced in small quantities from the best parcels of the vineyard, is matured in oak barrels for 18 months.

Château Brande-Bergère makes delicate and complex wines with a background of plentiful red fruits.

Varietals: Merlot (45%), Cabernet Franc (40%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%)
Age of vines: average 25 years
Geology: Sand and gravel on clay subsoil
Yield: 15 to 19hl / acre
