Delete my account — Tire-Bouchon

You can delete your Tire-Bouchon account at any time, by yourself, without contacting us and without giving a reason. This page describes the procedure, what is erased, and what remains in anonymised form.

1. From the app or the website

This is the normal route, and the fastest — it takes less than a minute.

In the mobile app

Open the app and sign in.
Go to Profil (Profile), then Réglages (Settings).
At the very bottom, tap Supprimer mon compte (Delete my account).

On tire-bouchon.app

Sign in.
Go to Paramètres (Settings), then Compte & identité (Account & identity).
At the very bottom, click Supprimer mon compte (Delete my account).

In both cases, type your username — the handle shown with an @ — to confirm, then validate. Deletion is immediate: you are signed out, and the account no longer exists.

Irreversible

There is no trash, no cooling-off period and no backup we could restore. Your cellar, your tastings and your messages are lost for good.

Typing your username is not a security measure — it is a safeguard against an accidental tap.

2. If you can no longer sign in

Write to contact@tire-bouchon.app from your account’s e-mail address, with the subject “Suppression de compte” (account deletion). We act within 30 days at the latest, and you receive a confirmation.

If you write from another address, we will ask you for something that proves the account is yours — we never delete an account on an unverified request.

3. What is deleted, what is anonymised

Our rule is simple: the person disappears, their contribution to the catalogue stays, and nothing points back to them. The wine entries you created or corrected benefit every member; erasing them would impoverish the database for everyone. They stay online, but your name is no longer on them, and no link back to you remains.

Your sign-in credentials
All your bottles and cellars
Your tasting notes and tasting records
Your friends and friend requests
Your conversations and messages
Your favourites and your wishlist
Your notifications and drinking-window alerts
The devices registered for push notifications

Kept, with no link to you

The data stays, the author is removed

The wine entries you submitted
The corrections you proposed
Label photos that became a wine’s public image
Your feedback and bug reports

These items can no longer be traced back to you: the field that identified you is emptied, not hidden.

4. If you have a subscription

To be done separately

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. If you subscribed from the app, you subscribed through Apple or Google, and only they can stop it — we have no control over it.

On iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Tire-Bouchon → Cancel.
On Android: Google Play → menu → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Tire-Bouchon → Cancel.
Subscribed on the website: cancel from Paramètres → Abonnement before deleting your account.

Cancel before deleting your account: afterwards, you will no longer have the app to guide you.

5. Your other rights

Before deleting, you can also request a copy of your data, have it corrected, or restrict its use. These rights and how to exercise them are set out in our privacy policy — account deletion corresponds to the right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR).
